No Philippine Team In World Cup Video Games

Football fever has hit the World, but not the Philippines. Here's a clear example of how indifferent we are.

My friend who is an avid gamer lamented to us that there isn't even a Philippine team in World Cup video games.

How can that be? Well, it appears that the Philippines did not send a team to the qualifiers. There wasn't any budget at all. Without a team at the qualifiers, the video game makers would have no data to use for the virtual Philippine team. There would be no names for the roster, there wouldn't even be a uniform to use.

I find this ridiculous. Why couldn't we just send a token team to the qualifiers? Is football that alien to the Philippines?
